Tough race, positive race

The DKM event in Kerpen was another tough racing weekend. We arrived in Westphalia hoping to get a good result after the first DKM round: three weeks ago in Ampfing I started the German season in 5th place in the OK Junior provisional standings.

Instead, the qualifying heats proved to be difficult hurdles to go over, due to hard contacts during the races. Due to this I lost the chance to get a good place in the qualy ranking but I didn’t give up: I was confident to recover in the Sunday’s races the positions I lost in the heats and this is what happened in Race 1.

Today, in Race 1 I took the start in 13th row, 26th place. I did my best from the light to the checkered flag, recovering positions lap by lap. I felt in a good shape, despite a very strong hit I received yesterday, during the second heat. Finally, I finished 12th, so in the Chiesa Corse team we were all satisfied and more motivated for Race 2.

In the final race I had a good start from 6th row, but I soon had again the same problems I suffered in the heats: due to some hits I received during the race, this time I haven’t the chance to recover again, finishing 14th.

Tough race, positive race: despite all I’m thinking positive, thanks to my 9th place in the provisional standings. This time too, I got some points and this is a good news, looking forward the next DKM rounds.
