Debut in OK with a 6th place in Lonato

The 6th place in Race 2 is a great result for Leonardo Marseglia, in his debut race in the OK category. The Italian driver concluded today his season in the Deutsche Kart Mesiterschaft with great satisfaction, after he worked very hard to prepare his debut in the top class, together with the Baby Race Team, in a field so difficult as DKM. And it is a double satisfaction, if one think to the 10th place that Marseglia grabbed in Race 1: a result gained thanks an unstoppable recovery from the 27th place in the starting grid, where he was forced after the problems he suffered during the first Saturday’s heat.

The 5th overall best time in the qualifying practice was the entry result for Marseglia, in opening of this weekend: this good performance gave to the driver from Apulia the best hopes in the final result, but a bump that Leonardo received during his first heat stopped his race after only 2 laps. Anyway, the driver of Baby Race was able to gain the qualification to the final phase, thanks to the 10th place he got in the second heat.

On Sunday, the wet track in a cloudy and often rainy day made very tough the race day. This hard condition increased the value of Marseglia’s performance: Leonardo was fast in Race 1, recovering as many places as possible, as well as he was careful in Race 2, starting from 5th row to fight against the top drivers of the category. At the end of the day the balance is really positive, in view of a season’s ending in which Leonardo will be committed in the remaining OK class events.
