Leonardo Marseglia in the top ten of the FIA Karting European Championship 2021

Leonardo Marseglia archived the first part of the season with the top ten in the general classification of the FIA Karting European Championship.

After facing a change of material, never easy for anyone, Leonardo Marseglia continued his first part of the season with an exponential growth, especially in the FIA Karting European Championship. An important showcase to confront face to face with all the best drivers of the category in a limited but highly competitive and uncertain calendar of only two stages.

In the opening weekend in Germany (Wackersdorf), the KR driver had done his best to collect as much data as possible in the tests before the race, which were then reported during the official weekend. A battle that Leonardo had waged from the sixth time in qualifying and then from the three second places (among the results) at the end of the five heats. In the first final of the season, dominant race pace that, useful to recover after a not easy start and close the gap up to the fourth position a step away from the podium.

In the last weekend on the circuit of Adria, Marseglia great ambition and awareness of being able to say its own for the fight for the continental title. Hot qualifying sessions, not only for the high temperatures, but especially for the small gaps between the best of KZ2. Ninth time in Friday’s qualifying and second position in Group C. Just the direct clashes have determined the performance of the weekend as absolute protagonist for the Apulian driver. Two second, a third and a fourth place to confirm the excellent level of feeling and competitiveness on a difficult circuit like Adria. Unfortunately the technical problem and the consequent withdrawal in the first heat forced Leonardo to start from P16 for the final on Sunday.
In the last twenty-four laps of the European Championship, Marseglia was not able to express himself at his best, mainly due to some technical problems at the wrong time. P16 confirmed under the checkered flag at the end of a weekend in any case very positive and eighth position in the overall standings, the best of Kart Republic chassis.

Leonardo Marseglia will be on track in a few weeks on the Swedish circuit of Kristianstad. Totally different temperatures and unknowns to play the International Super Cup KZ2 on the weekend of the FIA World Championship.
